Hot jazz to be served up at New Bedford High on Sunday
The students will be performing favorites such as "That Old Black Magic" and "Lullaby at Bird Land." Christine Eubinks will be a featured soloist in the choir.
After their performance, the students and audience will have the pleasure of seeing a college-level jazz group perform. "I'm excited to have them come down here and have the kids at the high school see the quality of a collegiate band," says Mr. Campoli of Boston College's BC bOp! The group operates under the direction of Sebastian Bonaiuto, who has led some of Boston College's most esteemed music groups, including the marching band, which was featured in the 1995 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. What makes BC bOp! stand out is their unique arrangement of ensemble musicians and jazz vocalists who perform side by side during the show.
